Our client, a global leader in market research, wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is currently managed and treated among pregnant patients in New Jersey. They approached m360 Research to recruit and interview obstetricians and gynaecologists (ObGyns) with the goal of improving treatment protocols and patient outcomes in the area.
Challenges
HG is a severe form of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. It goes beyond the typical “morning sickness” that many pregnant women experience and can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. Recruiting ObGyns who treat this condition was challenging because the client wanted to focus on specific postcode areas around Redbank, NJ, which significantly narrowed the pool of potential participants. As a result, the incidence rate (IR) was low, with only 10% of ObGyns in the area meeting the specific criteria set for the study.
m360 Research’s Solution
The client provided a list of postcodes around Redbank, which directed our recruitment focus. In response, m360 Research implemented a multifaceted strategy that combined panel and custom recruitment. Our proprietary sampling technology, dynamic audience, played a pivotal role in deep profiling potential respondents. We also engaged participants from previous women’s health projects and employed targeted calling efforts to boost conversion rates.
Custom recruitment strategies, including desk research, cold calling, and referral campaigns, contributed to approximately 50% of the completed interviews. Additionally, we collaborated with a vetted network of qualitative providers to meet the project deadline effectively. By starting these activities early in the project, we maximised our reach and engagement with potential participants.
Throughout the project lifecycle, we kept proactive and consultative communication with the client, providing regular updates and recommendations for optimising screeners. We shared daily termination data and kept the client closely informed about all activities and progress. The outcome of our strategy was the successful recruitment of 15 ObGyns in the Redbank area treating HG, followed by 60-minute online interviews conducted by m360 Research.
Client Impact
m360 Research successfully executed the study on HG treatments, delivering comprehensive insights from ObGyns in New Jersey. By overcoming recruitment challenges and using advanced targeting techniques, we provided the client with valuable data to support their business goals. The findings are expected to significantly impact the client’s research initiatives and contribute to improved patient care in the field of women’s health.
